In Christmas message, Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem expresses concern over suffering in Palestine

Jerusalem (Quds News Network) – The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem has released a Christmas message expressing deep concern for the continuous suffering of Palestinians in the region.

Titled “Homily For The Midnight Mass – Christmas 2023,” the statement conveyed the patriarchate’s reflections on the persistent challenges and conflicts in the area, highlighting the deprivation of basic needs, hunger, and exposure to incomprehensible violence faced by thousands.

It extended sympathy to those affected by the Israeli war in Palestine and the broader region, particularly expressing solidarity with those in mourning, waiting for a concrete gesture of closeness and care.

The statement emphasized the prolonged wait of Palestinians for international solutions to the occupation and its consequences.

The message also acknowledged the overwhelming impact of current circumstances, where the noise of weapons, children’s tears, the suffering of refugees, the cry of the poor, and the grief of mourning families make it challenging to find harmony in songs and rejoice, leaving words feeling empty and void.
