IJ leader: ‘Israel’ committing crime against hunger-striking detainees
Gaza (QNN)- Islamic Jihad leader, Ahmad Al Mudallal, on Sunday said that the arbitrary administrative detention, committed by the occupation state, is a crime, which is committed for no charges, according to Al Quds News.
The statement came during a sit-in in solidarity with the detainees, who have been on a hunger strike for periods reaching 109 days.
Al Mudallah warned the detainees are slowly dying, adding that they are determined to win their battle.
He also called on Palestinians to support the detainees through protests across occupied Palestine, stressing that the resistance also will never leave them alone.
In the same context, Al Mudallal criticized the silence by international human rights organizations and bodies, wondering “where is the Red Cross? where is the United Nations and other human rights organizations?”
Seven administrative detainees have been on hunger strike for periods reaching 109 days. The detainees are Kayed Fasfous (at 109 days of hunger strike), Miqdad Qawasmeh (at 102 days), Ala’a Al A’raj (at 85 days), Hisham Hawwash (at 76 days), Shadi Abu Aker (at 68 days), Ayyad Harimi (at 39 days), Rateb Hureibat (at 22 days), and Lu’ai Al Ashqar (at 20 days).
Israeli authorities carry out administrative detention on a daily basis without charges or trials, which is a violation of human rights.
