ICC-Wanted Netanyahu Nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize During White House Meeting

Washington (Quds News Network)- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who faces an ICC arrest warrant, informed US President Donald Trump on Monday that he had nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. Netanyahu handed Trump a nomination letter at the start of their meeting at the White House.

“I recommended President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize,” Netanyahu told reporters. He said the occupation state and the US were working together to find countries willing to offer Palestinians “a better future,” hinting at a plan to expel native Palestinians from Gaza.

This marks Netanyahu’s third visit to Washington in just six months, an unusual frequency for a foreign leader. The visit reflects his ongoing efforts to boost his plans amid growing regional tensions.

The meeting comes amid a shifting Middle East landscape. Israel and the US have attacked Iranian targets, prompting unprecedented missile retaliation from Iran into the occupation state.

At the same time, US officials say there are hopeful signs for a ceasefire deal in Gaza. Trump announced that Israel has agreed to a US-backed proposal for a two-month truce. He also described Hamas’s response to the “final offer” as “positive.”

Trump, who has frequently expressed his desire to win a Nobel Peace Prize, appeared pleased with the gesture. His push for ‘peace’, however, has sparked criticism over his alignment with Netanyahu’s genocidal policies in Gaza.

Earlier this year, Trump said the US should “take over” Gaza, remove its population, and turn it into the ‘Riviera of the Middle East’. That comment drew sharp backlash from human rights groups, who accused him of endorsing ethnic cleansing.

Netanyahu’s Nobel nomination comes as the International Criminal Court continues to pursue war crimes charges against him, including for crimes in Gaza.

Critics argue that nominating Trump for a peace prize while carrying out airstrikes and pushing for forced population transfer undermines the credibility of the award.

Still, both leaders see the nomination as a strategic move to frame their joint military and political assaults in the region as part of a broader vision for ‘peace’.
