Hundreds of Israeli Soldiers Join Call to End Gaza War, Say It Serves Netanyahu’s Interests

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)-
Hundreds of Israeli soldiers from the navy and armored corps have signed a letter demanding an end to the war on Gaza, stressing that it serves Netanyahu’s personal interests. Their message echoes a similar letter from over 950 retired and reserve Israeli Air Force members.

According to Israel’s Channel 12, these soldiers joined the growing movement of military personnel calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop the war. Many believe the ongoing genocide is driven by political motives.

Earlier, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz published a letter signed by 150 former navy officers. They warned that resuming fighting endangers Israeli prisoners, risks soldiers’ lives, and harms settlers. “The government is acting in ways that damage public trust and threaten the state’s foundations,” they wrote.

The officers accused the government of prioritizing political interests over national security. They condemned policies of inequality, including broad exemptions from military service. “Those who serve feel betrayed,” the letter stated. “This imbalance threatens social unity and national security.”

The protest movement gained momentum after the release of a petition by nearly 1,000 Air Force veterans and reservists. The petition urged the Israeli government to accept a deal for the immediate return of Israeli prisoners from Gaza, even if it required an end to the genocide.

Despite pressure from Air Force commanders to silence the dissent, the signatories refused to withdraw.
