Gaza (QNN)- On Friday, Israeli forces prepared to broadcast ICC-wanted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly directly into the destroyed Gaza Strip. The plan involved placing loudspeakers on trucks and walls near the border and even hacking and sending the speech to Palestinians’ phones. The address has since taken place. Israeli media said the move was viewed as a form of psychological warfare against Gaza’s population.
But despite all those measures, Gaza residents reported that they did not hear any broadcast across the border due to the ongoing bombardment and the dire conditions in the territory.According to Haaretz, the Israeli army made preparations to spread Netanyahu’s words into Gaza, with Unit 8200 assigned to deliver the speech through “digital channels” to mobile phones. Yedioth Ahronoth revealed that Netanyahu’s office ordered the army to set up loudspeakers close to Palestinian gatherings, while Channel 12 reported that the prime minister’s staff pushed in recent days for sound systems to be installed inside Gaza so that residents could hear his speeches in real time. Some military officials questioned the purpose of the plan. One senior officer told Haaretz that “no one understands the military benefit.”
The Gaza Center for Human Rights condemned the plan and described it as forced propaganda that violates dignity, personal freedom, and international law. The organization said it represented systematic psychological warfare aimed at humiliating the civilian population and stripping them of their basic rights. It called on the international community to condemn the practice as a grave violation and to hold Israeli leaders accountable for crimes against humanity.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed 65,502 Palestinians and wounded 167,376. Most of the victims are women and children. The ongoing blockade has also created famine, which has claimed 442 lives, including 147 children.
