Horrific Massacre: At least 40 people, some of them entire families, killed in Israeli airstrikes in Beit Lahiya

Gaza (Quds News Network)- An Israeli assault on Beit Lahiya in the besieged north of Gaza on Saturday evening killed at least 40 people, some of them entire families, local sources reported. North Gaza has been under Israeli siege and assault for more than three weeks.

Multiple Israeli airstrikes targeted about five residential buildings, including the houses of Abu Shadq, Salman and Al-Masri families. No warnings were given.

Emergency crews and hospitals in northern Gaza are almost entirely non-functional, leaving people to search through the rubble for their loved ones.

Emergency responders in the enclave’s battered north are working with limited tools and their hands to rescue survivors of the Israeli attack.

One survivor told Aljazeera’s correspondent Anas al-Sharif that there are no first responders available to assist in rescue and recovery.

“There are no ambulances or civil defense vehicles, and no functioning hospitals,” the man says over the phone. “Dozens of martyrs and missing people are under the rubble, and the wounded are bleeding to death.”

Sources added that many of the killed and injured are children, women and the elderly.

The Health Ministry announced that Israeli military strikes on Jabalia, Beit Hanoon, and Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza have killed about 800 people over the course of a three-week offensive and siege.
