Honduras recognizes Jerusalem as capital of ‘Israel’

Tegucigalpa (QNN)- Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez will travel to the occupation state of Israel on Friday to inaugurate a “diplomatic office” in occupied Jerusalem, recognizing the holy city as Israel’s capital.

The diplomatic office in the occupied Palestinian city will be an extension of Honduras’ Tel Aviv-based embassy.

“For me it’s the recognition that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel,” Hernandez said on Tuesday.

The foreign ministry said in a statement the occupation state had proposed that Honduras move its embassy to occupied Jerusalem, which is being “analyzed and evaluated in the international and national context.”

The move of Hernandez follows the formal recognition by US President Donald Trump of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. Last May, Trump moved the US embassy to the disputed city.
