Hezbollah’s First Response to Israeli Violations: Warning Strike Targets Israeli Military Base

Beirut (Quds News Network)- On Monday, Hezbollah announced a missile attack on an Israeli military base in the occupied Kfar Shuba hills as a preliminary defensive warning in response to repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.

In a statement, Hezbollah said the strike targeted the Israeli Roissat Al-Alam position, citing continuous breaches of the ceasefire, including gunfire at civilians, airstrikes across Lebanon, and persistent drone incursions into Lebanese airspace, even reaching Beirut. “Attempts to address these violations with relevant authorities have failed. Warnings have been issued,” the party declared.

Israeli sources confirmed that Hezbollah fired two missiles toward Mount Dov (Shebaa Farms), which landed in open areas without causing injuries.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attack, calling it a “serious violation of the ceasefire” and vowed a forceful response. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich echoed the sentiment, urging a ‘decisive strike’ against Hezbollah to change the status quo. Benny Gantz, leader of the State Camp party, warned of the need for strong ‘retaliation’ against Lebanon.

Escalation and Casualties

Israeli forces launched attacks across southern Lebanon, resulting in civilian casualties. Two Lebanese citizens were killed, and others injured in an Israeli strike on the village of Talousa. Heavy artillery targeted Bistara Farm, while airstrikes hit Hanin village and Jabbour Heights. Eastern neighborhoods in Aitaroun also came under heavy fire.

According to Lebanese sources, Israeli gunfire hit the towns of Maroun Al-Ras, Yaroun, and Bint Jbeil, intensifying the tension in the region.

Since the ceasefire agreement was signed last Wednesday, Israel has violated the deal over 75 times, according to Lebanese authorities. These violations include airstrikes, drone attacks, and artillery fire, resulting in six deaths and numerous injuries.

On Monday, a Lebanese State Security officer, Corporal Mahdi Khreiss, was killed by an Israeli drone strike in Nabatieh. The Lebanese Army reported another drone strike targeting a military bulldozer in Baalbek-Hermel, injuring a soldier. Additionally, airstrikes on Ainata injured civilians, while artillery fire targeted Beit Lif in Bint Jbeil.

Israeli forces also advanced near Meiss Al-Jabal, conducting searches and deploying artillery fire, while reports confirmed heavy machine gun fire on homes in Naqoura, further escalating tensions.

The situation remains precarious, with mounting casualties and fears of further escalation. Lebanese officials and Hezbollah have warned of severe consequences if Israeli violations persist.
