Hezbollah mourns the loss of Senior Commander Ibrahim Aqeel
Beirut (Quds News Network)- Hezbollah has officially announced the death of senior commander Ibrahim Aqil, also known as “Haj Abdul Qadir,” who was killed during an airstrike in Beirut’s southern suburb on Friday. In a statement, the party honored Aqil’s legacy, describing him as a great jihadist leader whose life was dedicated to resistance, sacrifice, and the ultimate goal of liberating Jerusalem.
“Jerusalem was always in his heart and mind, day and night,” the statement read, emphasizing Aqil’s deep connection to the Palestinian cause.
Aqil was recognized as the operational head of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, an elite unit known for its combat expertise and strategic significance in the conflict with the occupation state Israel.
The Israeli military confirmed the strike, asserting that it aimed at high-ranking leaders within Hezbollah. The operation has heightened concerns about an escalation in Lebanon, with analysts predicting that such targeted attacks could intensify confrontations between Israeli forces and Hezbollah.
