Hezbollah issued statement following deadly pager explosions as Lebanon mourns

Beirut (Quds News Network)- Hezbollah announced that a series of mysterious explosions involving pager devices used by their members rocked Lebanon this afternoon, resulting in the tragic deaths of a child and two others, with many more injured.
In an official statement, Hezbollah confirmed the blasts, saying they occurred “around 3:30 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024,” affecting several of their units and institutions. The group noted that the cause of these “synchronized explosions remains unclear.”
The statement expressed deep sorrow, mourning the loss of life: “These mysterious explosions have led to the martyrdom of a child and two of our brothers, and caused injuries to many others.” Hezbollah also pledged full efforts to investigate the incident: “Our security and scientific teams are conducting a wide-scale investigation to determine the causes behind these explosions.”
Medical teams have been deployed to treat the injured across Lebanon, with Hezbollah stating that their medical units “are currently treating the wounded in various hospitals across the country.”
Hezbollah further warned the public against false information, claiming that “some parties are spreading misleading rumors that serve the psychological warfare of the Zionist enemy.” The group linked these rumors to rising tensions with Israel, noting that the explosions coincide with “the Israeli enemy’s threats and rhetoric about changing the situation in the north.”
Despite the tragedy, Hezbollah affirmed their readiness to defend Lebanon, stating: “The resistance, in all its forms and units, remains at the highest level of readiness to protect Lebanon and its steadfast people.”
