Hezbollah: Israel Breached Lebanon Ceasefire Over 3,000 Times

Beirut (Quds News Network)- Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, stated on Monday that Israel has breached the Lebanon ceasefire deal more than 3,000 times since November.
Speaking after Israel’s latest attack on Beirut’s southern suburbs, Qassem called the strike a “political assault” with no justification, even imaginary ones. He said the attack was aimed at pressuring Lebanon and changing the rules of engagement, and that it happened with U.S. approval.
Qassem urged the Lebanese government to act more aggressively. He called for daily diplomatic pressure, summoning ambassadors of major powers, and filing urgent complaints at the United Nations and Security Council. He criticized Lebanon’s response so far as “too soft” and demanded stronger actions, especially against the U.S., which continues to back Israel’s violations.
“We honored the ceasefire,” Qassem said. “Israel did not. They broke the agreement more than 3,000 times.”
Hezbollah, he stressed, facilitated the army’s deployment in southern Lebanon and upheld all terms of the truce.
The ceasefire began on November 27, 2024, after nearly a year of open clashes between Hezbollah and Israel. Despite the deal, Israel has kept military forces in border areas and continued strikes across Lebanon.
On Sunday, Israel bombed a site in Beirut’s southern suburbs, claiming it was a Hezbollah weapons depot with precision missiles. It was the third such attack since the truce began. The Israeli army also admitted that it attacked over 50 targets in Lebanon over the past month, citing what it described as ‘threats to Israeli security’.
Qassem warned that Israel seeks not just military goals but deeper political control, weakening Lebanon, pushing for settlements, and forcing demographic changes.
He called on all political forces in Lebanon to unite against Israel’s ambitions.
“The first priority for Lebanon’s recovery,” he said, “is to stop Israeli aggression, secure a full withdrawal, and release our prisoners.”
Qassem stressed that Lebanon’s government must make it clear to Washington that U.S. interests in the region are not served by enabling Israeli violations.
