Hezbollah Drone Strike Marks First-Ever Resistance Operation Against Netanyahu’s Residence

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- The occupation state of Israel woke up to dramatic developments on Saturday morning as air raid sirens blared across several cities, including northern Tel Aviv, Acre, Nahariya, Caesarea, and the Golan Heights. In a bold escalation, a Hezbollah drone managed to bypass Israel’s air defenses and strike a building in Caesarea, widely reported to be the personal residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that the drone, launched from Lebanon, hit Netanyahu’s home directly. Israeli military censors imposed a media blackout on the incident, restricting information about the targeted building, which Hezbollah reportedly struck.

Images circulated on Israeli social media platforms showing the aftermath of the explosion, with one platform hinting at the damage to Netanyahu’s residence.

Israeli media outlet Channel 12 reported later that Netanyahu and his wife were not at home during the strike, although initial responses from his office were vague.

The Israeli military acknowledged the failure of its air defense systems to intercept the drone, triggering an investigation. The drone flew over 70 kilometers from Lebanon before reaching Caesarea, where it caused significant damage. Local witnesses described hearing a loud explosion and seeing helicopters and rescue forces rush to the area.

In response to the operation, the Israeli army deployed a large number of police and emergency vehicles around Netanyahu’s residence. Israeli news channel Kan confirmed that an Apache helicopter unsuccessfully attempted to shoot down the drone over Acre, which continued its flight until reaching Caesarea.

Hezbollah’s drone strike on Netanyahu’s home coincided with other air raid alarms across Israel. Sirens went off at the Glilot military base, north of Tel Aviv, which houses the elite Unit 8200, prompting large numbers of Israelis to seek shelter amid reports of disruptions to GPS systems in the area.

Meanwhile, explosions were reported in the Tiberias region following air raid sirens. Channel 12 reported that three additional drones entered Israeli airspace from Lebanon, targeting areas in Nahariya, Acre, and Haifa Bay. Israeli media warned of a potential large-scale missile and drone attack by Hezbollah.

The city of Caesarea, located south of occupied Haifa, has a strategic significance for Israel, with many prominent Israeli business figures residing there. It is also home to the Leviathan gas platform, a critical infrastructure asset for the occupation state.
