Hezbollah Claims Responsibility for Deadly Drone Strike on Israeli Golani Brigade Base Near Occupied Haifa

Occupied Haifa (Quds News Network)- Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for a drone strike that targeted an Israeli military base near Binyamina, south of occupied Haifa, on Sunday. According to Hezbollah sources speaking to Al Jazeera, the attack was carried out by a fleet of assault drones aimed at a base belonging to the Golani Brigade. The strike resulted in three deaths and at least 24 injuries, with nine individuals in critical condition, according to Israeli media reports.

Israeli news channels 12 and 13 confirmed the severity of the casualties, with some victims suffering life-threatening injuries. The Israeli military’s air defense systems reportedly failed to detect the incoming drones, raising concerns about the effectiveness of Israel’s defense mechanisms. Israeli Army Radio reported that no sirens were activated in the area before the strike, leaving settlers and soldiers off guard.

The drone strike marks one of the most significant and deadly attacks since the beginning of the war, with Israeli media describing it as the most damaging Hezbollah operation to date. Reports indicated that three of the injured are in “hopeless” condition, with little chance of recovery.

Hezbollah leadership confirmed their capability to strike deep into Israeli territory, with a commander stating that the resistance’s capabilities remain strong. The drones reportedly bypassed Israel’s defenses amid a barrage of rockets launched toward the Galilee region.

In response to the attack, the Israeli Air Force launched an investigation into the failure of the air defense systems to activate sirens before the strike. Eyewitnesses described hearing a loud explosion at the military base, with no prior warning of the incoming drones.
