Hamas Submits Positive Response to Ceasefire Proposal, Ready for Talks

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Hamas announced on Friday that it has completed internal and national consultations regarding the latest ceasefire proposal presented by mediators. The resistance movement submitted a formal response, which it described as “positive,” and expressed readiness to immediately enter negotiations to discuss implementation.
In an official statement, the movement said it held serious talks with Palestinian factions and national forces before delivering its reply to Qatari and Egyptian mediators.
“Hamas is fully prepared to begin a new round of negotiations on the implementation mechanism,” the statement read.
The announcement comes two days after US President Donald Trump said Israel had agreed to a 60-day ceasefire deal. In a post on his platform, Truth Social, Trump said that the final proposal will be presented by the Qatari and Egyptian mediators. He added that he hope that Hamas agrees on the proposal threatening that the situation in Gaza will worsen.
Hamas emphasized that it is acting with “a high sense of responsibility” and remains committed to reaching an agreement that ends the genocide, secures a full Israeli withdrawal, and allows urgent humanitarian aid to enter Gaza.
The movement praised the efforts of mediators and said they are working hard to close the gap between the parties and move toward a framework agreement and serious negotiations.
The situation in Gaza remains dire, with tens of thousands killed since the Israeli genocide began on October 7, 2023. Palestinians continue to call for a permanent end to Israeli attacks, a full lifting of the blockade, and unrestricted humanitarian access. Meanwhile, Israel, fully backed by the US, have rejected every ceasefire proposal that has been presented.
