Hamas Proposes Release of All Israeli Prisoners in Exchange for Lasting Ceasefire and Israeli Withdrawal

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Hamas has proposed a deal for the release of all Israeli prisoners in Gaza. The resistance movement suggested exchanging the remaining Israeli prisoners for a permanent ceasefire and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. The proposal comes as part of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, according to a statement by Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem on Wednesday.
Qassem emphasized that Hamas is ready for a “one go” exchange of prisoners. “We are prepared for the second phase, in which all prisoners will be exchanged, contingent upon a permanent ceasefire agreement and the full withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza,” he stated.
In response to Israel’s demand for disarmament and the removal of Hamas from Gaza, Qassem described that as part of a “ridiculous psychological war” and stated that the removal or disarmament of resistance forces is “unacceptable.”
Hamas leader Khalil Al-Hayya had previously announced that six Israeli prisoners will be freed on Saturday, doubling the number from the previous swap. This decision came upon a request from mediators. Earlier on Wednesday, Israel’s government said that the release of the six prisoners is a proposal from Hamas.
Earlier during the genocide, Hamas repeatedly proposed an All-For-All exchange deal, offering the release of all Israeli prisoners in return for the release of over 11,000 Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons.
