Hamas chief calls upon Palestinian people to be fully prepared to protect al-Aqsa Mosque
Occupied Palestine (QNN) – Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh has made clear that the Palestinian people would not allow the Israeli settlers to desecrate the holy al-Aqsa Mosque and stage their flag march through the Old City in occupied Jerusalem.
On Sunday, Haniyeh said in a national conference marking the first anniversary of the Sword of Jerusalem battle that the Palestinian people, led by the resistance, will not allow any desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque or settler arrogance in Jerusalem.
He added that the Palestinian resistance is following up on the settlers’ threats to storm the al-Aqsa Mosque at the end of the current month, stressing that it would respond strongly to any of these threats.
Haniyeh called upon the Palestinian people to be fully prepared to protect the al-Aqsa Mosque and prevent the settlers from moving on with their plans.
On Wednesday, Israeli Public Security Minister Omer Barlev and Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai approved the flag march to pass through the Damascus Gate in the Old City in occupied Jerusalem.
In the same context, Israeli Cooperation Minister said that the march should not pass through the Damascus Gate, describing the move as nonsense.
