Hamas: Ceasefire and Prisoner Swap Possible if Israel Stops Adding Conditions

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Hamas stated on Monday that reaching an agreement for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange remains possible if Israel refrains from imposing new conditions. The resistance movement confirmed that ongoing negotiations in Doha, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, are progressing with a serious and positive atmosphere.

Hamas spokesperson Jihad Taha described the talks as marked by seriousness and optimism, expressing hope that the mediators’ efforts would succeed in finalizing an agreement. He emphasized that Hamas approaches the mediators’ initiatives with a spirit of positivity, particularly on issues that serve the Palestinian people. Taha also called on Israel to show seriousness, avoid placing obstacles or new conditions, and push toward achieving a deal.

Meanwhile, Israeli media had reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is leaning toward a partial agreement rather than a comprehensive one. The mother of one Israeli prisoner criticized Netanyahu’s approach, saying he is negotiating a “partial deal” that will not rescue all prisoners from “the hell of Gaza,” as she described it.

Last month, a scandal shook the occupation state, reveling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office orchestrated a covert operation to block the release of Israeli prisoners held in Gaza.
