Hamas: ‘Break the Siege, Stop the Killings, End the Starvation’
Gaza (Quds News Network)- Hamas has condemned the ongoing Israeli "horrific massacres" in Gaza targeting civilians, stating that "every possible means must be used to break the siege, stop the killings, and end the starvation.”
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Hamas denounced “the Zionist occupation’s brutal aggression and horrific massacres against our people in Gaza and aggressive schemes across the occupied West Bank.”
“We call on the masses of our Arab and Islamic nations, the free people of the world, and all those who stand for justice and freedom to escalate pressure on the occupation to stop its attacks.”
“We call on the masses to reject the occupation’s crimes and plans against our land, people, and holy sites, and to condemn the US support for these atrocities.”
“Every means possible must be used to break the siege, stop the killings, and end the starvation,” it said, adding “all efforts and energy should be directed towards supporting Gaza, healing its wounds and strengthening its resilience.”
“We call on the world leaders to take their historic responsibility at this crucial moment as the Zionist enemy is committing the most heinous crimes. They must take decisive action to halt this war.”
On March 18, Israel announced the resumption of its war on Gaza, which has, so far, led to the killing of over 730 civilians, the majority of whom are children. Hundreds more have been injured, with many still missing under the rubble, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Israeli air force jets have carried out a series of attacks across Gaza, targeting multiple areas in the north, center, and south. Reports confirm heavy bombardment of residential homes, schools, and tents housing displaced Palestinians.
On March 1, Israel blocked all humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, including food, medicine, and fuel, amidst widespread condemnations and accusations of using starvation as a weapon of war.
France has rejected a visa to prominent human rights advocate and Director-General of Al-Haq, Shahwan Jabarin, who was scheduled to address the European Parliament’s human rights committee in Strasbourg, a move that “undermining efforts towards accountability and advocacy for Palestinian rights.”
The US Senate blocked on Wednesday two resolutions that would have stopped the sale of some $450 million in bombs and bulldozers to Israel, amid the assaults on Gaza, Lebanon and Iran.
Israel has appointed its first ambassador to Somaliland, months after Israel became the first in the world to officially recognize the breakaway region in Somalia.
