Hamas’ Abu Ubaida Delivers Fierce Address on First Anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, has delivered a statement, marking the first anniversary of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. The spokesperson for Hamas’ military wing emphasized the significance of the operation, stating that it is “the most professional and successful commando operation of the modern era.” Abu Ubaida delivered a powerful message to both Israel and the international community.

A Strategic Preemptive Strike

Abu Ubaida reiterated that the operation was a preemptive move by Palestinian resistance forces to counter an impending large-scale Israeli military assault on Gaza. He highlighted how Israeli plans to deal a significant blow to the resistance were in their final stages before Hamas initiated its own operation. According to him, this strategic decision shifted the course of the conflict and exposed Israel’s vulnerability.

“The assault on Al-Aqsa had reached an unprecedented and dangerous level,” Abu Ubaida said, pointing to the increased Israeli settlement expansions, the aggression against Palestinian prisoners, and the systemic Judaization of Palestinian lands. The military offensive was Hamas’ response to these provocations, aimed at breaking Israel’s chokehold on Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories.

Heroic Palestinian Resistance

Reflecting on the past year, Abu Ubaida praised the “legendary resilience” of the Palestinian people in the face of relentless Israeli military aggression. Despite what he described as betrayal by neighboring Arab governments and collaboration from international forces, the Palestinian resistance has remained unbroken. He noted that the people of Gaza, in particular, continue to display remarkable courage and strength, weathering daily Israeli bombardments.

“Even in an unequal battle, we have inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy,” Abu Ubaida stated, claiming that thousands of Israeli soldiers had been killed or wounded during the year-long confrontation. The resistance, he said, had also destroyed hundreds of Israeli military vehicles, effectively crippling parts of Israel’s defense apparatus.

International Solidarity

Abu Ubaida acknowledged the support that Palestinian resistance groups have received from regional actors, including Iran, Yemen, and Iraq. He stressed that resistance fighters from across the region had contributed significantly to the ongoing battle against Israeli forces, with drone strikes from Yemen and Iraq inflicting losses on Israel.

Iran was lauded for its unwavering support, with Abu Ubaida noting that the Islamic Republic had dealt “Strikes of True Promise” that have rattled Israeli military planners. This regional solidarity, he asserted, demonstrates that Israel is no longer just facing a local uprising but a broader, multinational front of resistance.

Rejection of US and Western Imperialism

Abu Ubaida did not shy away from criticizing US and Western involvement in the Israeli genocide, stating that the US is the backbone of Israeli military power. He argued that Israel’s reliance on American-made weaponry and military backing from the US government will ultimately fail. “The ropes of the American administration, on which this entity relies, will undoubtedly break over time,” he warned, signaling that global opposition to Israeli policies continues to grow.

Ongoing Resistance and the Path Forward

Looking ahead, Abu Ubaida vowed that the resistance will continue to wage a long and painful war of attrition against Israel. He argued that the success of this strategy has already been proven, and Hamas will persist in refining its tactics and adapting its strategies to keep the Israeli military on the defensive.

The spokesperson made clear that the resistance has no intention of easing its pressure on Israel, despite the formidable challenges it faces. “The enemy does not understand the lessons of history or the realities on the ground,” he stated, emphasizing that the resilience of the Palestinian people, rooted in their land and heritage, would continue to fuel the fight.

Resistance in the Face of Assassinations

Abu Ubaida responded to Israel’s celebrations of the targeted assassinations of prominent resistance leaders, including Ismail Haniyeh and Hassan Nasrallah. He dismissed these assassinations as short-term victories for Israel, asserting that the deaths of resistance leaders only inspire more fighters. “If assassinations were a victory, the resistance would have ended 90 years ago with the killing of Izz al-Din al-Qassam,” he remarked.

Israel Doesn’t Care About Prisoners

Abu Ubaida emphasized the responsibility the resistance holds towards the Israeli prisoners in Gaza, stressing that from day one, efforts have been made to protect and preserve their safety.

He pointed out that the prisoners could have been returned a year ago “if it aligned with Netanyahu’s political interests”. However, the Israeli leadership’s obstinacy has prolonged the situation, and Abu Ubaida warned that incidents like the one involving the six prisoners in Rafah could recur if the Netanyahu government continues its current course.

He also noted that all resistance groups guarding the Israeli prisoners have clear instructions that in the event of an Israeli incursion into their locations, the decision to act would rest with the fighters on the ground. If this intransigence persists, the issue of Israeli prisoners could enter a dark tunnel, potentially with a hundred cases like Ron Arad, the long-missing Israeli pilot.

Abu Ubaida further highlighted the increasing dangers the prisoners face due to their proximity to active combat zones, where they risk being caught in crossfire, possibly even from Israeli forces themselves. The situation grows more precarious by the day as clashes intensify.

A Call for Global Action

Abu Ubaida ended his address with a call for international action in support of the Palestinian cause. He urged Arab and Muslim nations to launch a massive cyber campaign against Israel and to escalate their efforts in defending Palestine. He called on scholars and intellectuals to rise up and articulate the just nature of the Palestinian struggle, denouncing the occupation and its crimes against humanity.

“Let the free people of the world know,” he declared, “that this rogue state is rejected by all nations and free peoples.” His message was clear: Palestine will continue its fight for freedom, no matter the cost, and the resistance will not stop until the Israeli occupation is defeated.
