Grieving crowd participates in funeral of 17-year-old Palestinian killed by Israeli forces

Jenin (QNN)- Hundreds of Palestinians took part today in the funeral procession of 17-year-old Palestinian Mohamed Akram Abu Salah from the Al-Yamun town, west of Jenin, who succumbed to his injuries that he sustained in the head by an Israeli gunfire during a violent military raid into Silat al-Harithiya town, after midnight.

Abu Salah has died of his injuries that he sustained after being shot and critically injured in the head by Israeli forces during a violent raid into Silat al-Harithiya town last night.

That raid was in preparation for the demolition of the Jaradat family house as a collective punishment as its two sons, Ghaith and Omar Jaradat, brothers aged 20 and 17 years old, are accused of carrying out an alleged shooting operation that took place on December 16, near the illegal settlement of Homesh, north of Nablus, leaving an Israeli settler killed.

Violent confrontations erupted between the occupation soldiers and the residents after Israeli special forces unit of Yamam escorted over 40 military machineries and bulldozers to the area and closed all of the town entrances.

Supporters from nearby villages also headed to the Silat al-Harithiya to protest against the demolition and to show solidarity.

However, the occupation forces attacked them and fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters, injuring over 10 Palestinians.

The Red Crescent said the forces prevented its crew from entering the town to provide the injured with medical treatment.
