GMO warns citizens in Gaza from Israeli maps of death traps
Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Government Media office (GMO) warned on Monday the citizens in Gaza from announcements and maps published by Israel’s army, calling them to evacuate certain areas “to lure them into traps of death, killing, and field executions.”
The GMO added in a brief statement that the Israeli occupation army has published some misleading maps calling on citizens to move from Gaza City to the south, claiming that these are safe areas. “These calls are false and pose a grave danger to the lives of citizens”, it noted.
The office urged citizens not to follow the Israeli calls, stressing that the Israeli army aims, through these false calls, to lure citizens into traps of death, killing, and field executions.
“This has repeatedly occurred, with dozens of field executions of citizens who previously tried to move on Al-Rashid Street in western Gaza City and Salah Al-Din Street in eastern Gaza City”, it added. “The occupation army invited citizens to move to the central and southern areas, then coldly executed them upon arrival at the military checkpoints, shooting and causing dozens of martyrs and hundreds of wounded and injured.”
The office stated that “the repetition of these fatal mistakes and this tragedy causes citizens to pay with their blood, lives, and safety.”
Since the start of the genocide in Gaza, Israel has been telling international organizations that it drops leaflets to the people in Gaza and send messages ordering them to evacuate dangerous areas to ‘safe areas’. However, last December, a New York Times investigation revealed that during the first month and a half of the war, Israel “routinely used one of its biggest and most destructive bombs in areas it designated safe for civilians”.
Furthermore, several UN bodies repeatedly stated that there are no safe areas in Gaza.
