“Get out of here,” Israeli settlers scream at Palestinian family picnicking in West Bank

A group of Israeli settlers were filmed on Saturday harassing and screaming at a Palestinian family picnicking in the occupied West Bank, claiming the family didn’t have a right to be there because they were Arabs.

The Video footage, published by the mother, shows that several Israeli settlers, one of them armed, are first seen approaching the Palestinian family that was having lunch in nature outside Jibya village, north of Ramallah near an illegal settlement and telling them to leave.

When the family, which included a mother with her baby, refused, one of the settlers took their belongings and threw beverages from their cups onto their campfire.

The settlers then continued saying, “You’re not Israelis, you’re Arabs, we did you a favour when we let you stay.”

Then they called the Israeli occupation forces and demanded that the Palestinian family be sent away.

“I don’t want to have to use too much force. You cannot be here,” one of the soldiers was heard telling the family.

“You are not allowed to be here…Get out of here. Yalla,” the soldier said.

In a statement responding to the incident, the IOF said it was aware of the case and that it was being “handled by commanders. The conduct of the soldiers in the incident will be investigated.”

Israeli settlers violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the occupied West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli occupation authorities.

There are over 700,000 Israeli settlers living in illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention.
