German Police raid houses of five individuals over “pro-Palestine crimes”

Berlin (Quds News Network)- German police broke into the homes of five individuals in Berlin today, accusing them of committing crimes ‘motivated by pro-Palestinian sentiments’ amid the ongoing Gaza genocide. The raids, which involved 125 officers, targeted multiple districts in the capital, including Friedrichshain, Britz, Gropiusstadt, Tegel, and Schöneberg.

The police stated that the suspects are under investigation for offenses ranging from incitement to hatred to disturbing the peace, and for using symbols tied to unconstitutional organizations. The operation follows authorities’ concerns about growing awareness of and solidarity with the Palestinian cause in Germany, with authorities focusing on individuals criticize Israel’s practices.

During the raids, authorities confiscated mobile phones, computers, and other electronic devices. These materials are set to be analyzed as part of a broader investigation into the involvement of those who were attacked, in pro-Palestine acts, particularly their social media presence. Police have indicated that this could lead to further insights into more supporters of the Palestinian resistance within Germany.

The raids did not result in any immediate arrests, but the investigation remains active, with more developments expected as evidence is processed.

This operation is part of Germany’s broader crackdown on pro-Palestine demonstrations and activism following the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza. Similar raids took place last November, targeting individuals who showed solidarity with Palestine.

German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser has been vocal about the government’s stance, expressing support for deporting individuals who back the Palestinian resistance. The Social Democratic Party (SPD) has also backed this position, calling on Germany’s Muslim community to denounce Hamas.
