Gaza’s Health System Collapses as Israel Bombs Hospitals, Blocks Medicine and Vaccines

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Most hospitals in the Gaza Strip are now out of service, according to the Health Ministry. Israeli airstrikes have destroyed more than 80 medical centers and over 140 ambulances.
On the eve of Palm Sunday, Israeli warplanes bombed the Baptist Hospital in central Gaza City. The strike targeted the surgical operations building and the medical oxygen station, both essential for intensive care patients.
Israeli forces had warned of the attack minutes before it happened, triggering a rushed evacuation. Staff tried to move patients, but many in surgery and internal medicine wards were left behind.
Two missiles hit the hospital’s emergency and reception departments. The building is now completely out of service. Power was cut off. Critical patients were left without oxygen or support.
Hundreds of patients and civilians rushed into the streets in panic. Warplanes flew low overhead, intensifying the fear and chaos.
The Baptist Hospital, also known as the Arab Ahli Hospital, was previously bombed in October 2023. That strike killed hundreds of displaced people and shocked the world.
The hospital, one of Gaza’s oldest, is run by the Anglican Episcopal Church. It has long served as a safe haven for civilians during war.
Health officials say Israel is systematically destroying Gaza’s medical system. They warn of an environmental and public health disaster as Israel blocks the entry of medicine and children’s vaccines. Israel also continues to bombard hospitals.
The Ministry of Health called on international organizations to urgently protect the health sector in Gaza. It says the attacks violate international humanitarian law and threaten the lives of thousands.
