Gaza’s American Field Hospital Looted Amid Security Collapse and Israeli Air Cover

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Gaza’s already collapsing healthcare system took another hit early Friday. Armed groups looted the American field hospital in Al-Zawaida, in the central Gaza Strip. The attackers stole everything — from life-saving medications to power generators under Israeli protection.

The Ministry of Health condemned the attack. In a statement, it said “hired gangs” carried out the attack, destroying vital medical supplies, equipment, and children’s nutrition supplements.

“This criminal act comes as our health system is already devastated by Israeli attacks,” the ministry added. “Hospitals are being systematically destroyed in this genocide.”

The field hospital was run by International Medical Corps (IMC). According to the Palestinian NGO Network, the armed men stormed the storage areas, stealing massive quantities of medical equipment, baby formula, and drugs for malnourished children.

“This is a dangerous and unprecedented incident,” the NGO network said. “It violates the values of our people, especially during a time of mass killing and starvation.”

Theft, violence, and insecurity have risen sharply across Gaza. Local sources said armed gangs linked to Israeli forces operated under aerial cover from Israeli drones. These groups targeted local police and aid protection units trying to stop looting and chaos.

Israel’s repeated targeting of Gaza’s civil infrastructure, including hospitals and police, has left a massive security vacuum. With no functioning law enforcement, many areas in Gaza have descended into lawlessness.

The Government Media Office in Gaza revealed that since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 754 Palestinian police officers and aid security staff. These officers were working to protect humanitarian convoys and enforce public safety.

Gaza’s health and aid systems are nearing total collapse. Most hospitals are now out of service due to Israeli airstrikes and the blockade of medical supplies. Humanitarian organizations warn that tens of thousands of patients and injured people are now at risk.

The NGO network urged the international community to pressure Israel to open crossings and allow urgent humanitarian aid into Gaza.
