Gazans hold vigil in protest against Israel’s morning raid of Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque
Besieged Gaza Strip (QNN)- Hundreds of Gazans held on Friday a vigil in Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip in protest against Israel’s morning assault and raid of Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque.
The protesters were holding the flag of Palestine and banners in support of the holy site.
They were chanting slogans that called to defend the Al-Aqsa mosque. The protesters also pledged to protect the Al-Aqsa from the Israeli violations.

Earlier today, the Israeli occupation forces broke into the al-Aqsa Mosque and brutally attacked the worshipers who gathered to perform the Al-Fajr prayer.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said at least 153 Palestinian worshipers were injured during the Israeli forces’ morning assault.
The forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades and tear gas canisters directly and intensively at the worshipers. They also severely beat them, including children, women, journalists and youths.

The forces also arrested about 400 Palestinians from the courtyards of the mosque since the morning assault, according to local sources.

After nearly a 6-hour assault against the Palestinians, the Palestinians succeeded in reaching the holy site again and performing the Friday prayer.

Thousands of Palestinian youths stayed at Al-Aqsa mosque overnight amid calls by extremist Jewish groups to enter the compound on Friday to perform a Passover sacrifice, in violation of the status quo agreements on religious practice at the site.
