Gaza Soup Kitchen Chef Killed in Israeli Drone Attack

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Gaza Soup Kitchen chef and co-founder was “targeted and assassinated” by Israeli forces in a drone attack in northern Gaza on Saturday. At least 17 Palestinian aid workers and aid seekers were killed on Saturday in separate Israeli attacks.

The relief group confirmed that Israeli forces “targeted and assassinated” its chef and co-founder, Mahmoud Almadhoun, in a drone attack in Beit Lahiya.

Gaza Soup Kitchen is a grassroots initiative dedicated to providing hot, nutritious meals to vulnerable families in northern Gaza amid relentless Israeli attacks and military siege imposed on the area since October 5, preventing the entry of food, water and medicine, in a campaign rights groups say is aimed at clearing the area of all of its residents.

“We believe he was killed because of his unwavering dedication to solving problems for Kamal Adwan Hospital and ensuring they had whatever they needed,” the group said, referring to the besieged medical facility in Beit Lahiya.

“Mahmoud was a lifeline, standing in the way of the ethnic cleansing they are determined to carry out—and they would not allow that to continue,” the group added.

“Mahmoud leaves behind seven children— the youngest only two weeks old, and the oldest still in the hospital, recovering from critical injuries caused by an Israeli quadcopter. How do you break the news to his eldest child?”

On Saturday, at least 17 aid workers and aid seekers were killed in separate Israeli attacks in northern and southern Gaza, including Almadhoun.

14 people were killed in an Israeli air strike while waiting for food aid in southern Khan Younis. Among the victims was Save the Children staff member Ahmad Faisal Isleem Al-Qadi, 39, as he was returning from the mosque.

Three workers from the World Central Kitchen were killed in an Israeli attack on Khan Younis in the third attack on the US-based aid group this year.
