Gaza Rescuers Recover More Than 250 Bodies Despite Shortage of Equipment After Two-Year Israeli Genocide

Gaza (QNN)- Gaza Civil Defence has recovered more than 250 bodies, despite a severe shortage of equipment needed to retrieve Palestinians buried under the rubble after two years of Israeli genocide, with over 10,000 people still reported missing.

Gaza Civil Defence spokesman Mahmoud Basal said the agency has recovered more than 250 bodies since the war stopped, some of which were lying in the streets.

“We are facing a significant shortage of heavy equipment to remove the rubble. More than 10,000 people are under the rubble, and we don’t have the means to reach them,” he said.

He also noted that “war remnants and explosive materials pose a great threat to people’s lives.”

The UN estimated that 92 percent of all residential buildings in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed since the war began in October 2023, and hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians have been forced to live in tents and other makeshift shelters.

More than 67,800 Palestinians were killed in the genocide, the majority of them women and children.
