Gaza Prepares to Receive Palestinian Detainees Freed from Israeli Prisons

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Preparations are underway at the European Gaza Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, to receive Palestinian detainees set to be freed from Israeli prisons on Wednesday night. This release is part of the seventh batch of the exchange deal under the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
The Palestinian Detainees’ Media Office in Gaza said preparations are underway at the European Gaza Hospital in the enclave’s southern city of Khan Younis to receive the released detainees.
Earlier, Hamas named the four Israelis whose bodies will be handed over on this night after reaching a deal with mediators on the handover of the 620 Palestinian detainees who were due to be freed by Israel last week, and “an equivalent number of women and children” abducted from Gaza since the war began.
The spokesperson for Hamas’s military wing, the Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, has announced the names of the four Israeli captives: Tsachi Idan, Itzik Elgarat, Ohad Yahalomi, and Shlomo Mansour.
A senior Hamas official has told the AFP news agency that the Palestinian movement will not hold a public ceremony for the handover of the bodies of the four Israeli captives.
“The handover will take place without public presence to prevent the occupation from finding any pretext for delay or obstruction,” the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity as he was not authorised to discuss the matter.
The release of the Palestinian detainees will be between 10 and 11 PM today, local time, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society.
