Gaza Pediatrician Shocked to Find Her Nine Burned Children at Hospital After Israeli Airstrike on Her Home

Gaza (Quds News Network)- While on duty at Nasser Hospital, Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar, a pediatrician, was devastated to discover the burned bodies of her nine children—killed in an Israeli airstrike that struck her home in Khan Younis.

She and her husband, Dr. Hamdi Al-Najjar, both doctors, had just left the house briefly. Hamdi returned home minutes before an Israeli missile struck their home. Nine of their ten children were killed instantly. The names of the children are: Yahya, Rakan, Raslan, Gubran, Eve, Revan, Sadin, Luqman, and Sidra. Only Adam, the youngest, survived but remains injured. Dr. Hamdi is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Dr. Alaa is now left with one injured child and the memory of a family wiped out in seconds.

Israel has proven that it is not only targeting medical staff—it’s wiping out their families. The occupation state has repeatedly targeted medical personnel in Gaza over the last 19 months. Doctors, nurses, paramedics, and civil defense workers have been killed in airstrikes, arrested at checkpoints, or trapped under rubble. Hospitals and ambulances have become military targets.

According to the Government Media Office:

  • 1,402 medical personnel have been killed since the genocide began.

  • 111 civil defense workers have been killed.

  • 362 healthcare workers have been kidnapped; 3 were tortured to death in Israeli custody.

  • 26 civil defense workers have been kidnapped.

  • 34 hospitals have been destroyed, damaged, or forced out of service.

  • 80 clinics have been shut down by Israeli strikes.

  • 162 health institutions have been targeted.

  • 15 civil defense centers have been bombed.

  • 142 ambulances and 54 emergency or firefighting vehicles have been attacked.

Gaza’s health system is on the brink of collapse. Israel has blocked international medical teams from entering to help relieve the burden. Fuel, medicine, and equipment are scarce. Doctors are forced to work with minimal supplies and constant fear.
