Gaza fishermen protest against Israeli violations

Gaza (QNN)- Gaza fishermen union organized a vigil and a press conference today in protest against the Israeli ongoing violations against them.

The protesters carried balloons holding pictures of fishermen killed by Israeli forces. They also held placards calling for expanding the fishing zone and stopping the killing of fishermen.

The union leader, Nizar Ayyash, said that “the Israeli occupation continues its violations against Gaza fishermen, ignoring all international decisions.”

He added that Israel’s violations put the lives of nearly 4500 fishermen in danger.

Ayyash also called on the international community to “pressure the occupation in order to expand the fishing zone and allow fishermen to work normally.”

Ayyash noted that the Israeli navy had killed three fishermen from the Lahham family. They also blinded another fisherman when they opened fire directly at his eyes. They caused fishing boats to sink on several occasions as well.
