Fox News’ Trey Yingst Honored Despite Spreading Misinformation on Palestine

Washington (Qud News Network)- Fox News chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst received an award at the Radio Television Digital News Association’s 34th annual First Amendment Awards. Despite this recognition, Yingst has repeatedly spread misinformation while covering Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.

Last November, Yingst falsely claimed that Palestinian prisoners released in a ceasefire deal were “convicted murderers” and “suicide bombing planners.” In reality, Israel freed 69 women and 21 teenage boys, most of whom had not been charged or convicted of serious crimes. Some had been arrested for social media posts criticizing Israel’s genocide in Gaza, which has killed over 47,000 people, mostly women and children.

Yingst has also been accused of staging footage with Israeli forces. A viral clip showed him reporting on a supposed Palestinian arrest, but moments later, the same individual was seen freely walking around without a blindfold.

During Israel’s bombing of Gaza, Yingst focused on Israeli pets frightened by explosions while ignoring Palestinian families being massacred. In October, he amplified false Israeli claims, including debunked reports of beheaded babies, raped women, and civilians burned alive. He also promoted Israeli military interrogation videos, despite independent experts questioning their credibility.

Some of Yingst’s reporting has provided valuable insights. He covered Israeli bulldozing at Al-Shifa Hospital and confirmed Israeli troop losses in Gaza. However, his frequent spread of Israeli propaganda has helped manufacture consent for war crimes and genocide.

In his acceptance speech, Yingst praised Palestinian journalists covering Gaza, calling them “brave” and saying they had “risked, and often given their lives, to practice our craft.” However, he failed to mention that Israel is the one killing these journalists.
