Former Israeli Prisoner Uses Genocidal Biblical Language, Calls Palestinians “Amalek”

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Former Israeli soldier prisoner Agam Berger appeared in a video where she used genocidal biblical terms, referring to the Palestinian people as “Amalek.” In the video, Berger said, “This Shabbat is Shabbat Parshat Zachor, when we remember what Amalek did to us—and also what they did to us on October 7th” , referring to Al-Aqsa Flood military operation against Israeli military sites.

Berger recently participated in a storming of Yousef’s Tomb in occupied Nablus. She was accompanied by Israeli soldiers and settler leader Yossi Dagan, who has previously advocated for the ethnic cleansing and resettlement of Gaza. The military provided heavy protection during the operation. Berger’s mother, Merav Berger, joined her on the site.

Western media has often portrayed Berger as a young woman passionate about music and social work. Reports describe her as a talented violinist and a volunteer who helps people with special needs and children with learning difficulties.

Upon her release from imprisonment in a prisoner exchange between the resistance and the occupation state, Berger thanked Hamas for protecting her. Shortly afterward, she celebrated her sister’s enrollment in the Israeli army and joined settler groups to storm West Bank cities.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also used the term “Amalek” to justify violence and genocidal actions in Gaza. The phrase “Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass” is linked to ancient calls for genocide and mass destruction and is cited to justify ethnic cleansing.
