Former Israeli Chief of Staff says Israel has lost the war against Hamas

Tel Aviv (Quds News Network) – The former Chief of Staff of the Israeli occupation military, Dan Halutz, has asserted that Israel has suffered a hard defeat in the war against Hamas.

Addressing a gathering of government critics, Halutz emphasized that the only victory image achievable would be the overthrow of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“There won’t be a victory image because the image is that of the nation’s loss, with 1,300 casualties, 240 abductees, 200,000 refugees, some of whom have been repatriated,” Halutz said, as reported by the Israeli Channel 7.

Halutz continued, stating, “For me, the image of victory is when this Prime Minister steps down from power.”

He predicted the possibility of a civil war within the occupying state, highlighting the increased arming of militias run by ultranationalist Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir

Applauded by attendees, Halutz concluded, “This is the image of victory; there must be no delay. This is what we need to convey to the entire public and millions more inside Israel.”

Criticism against the military’s exaggeration of achievements have also surfaced, as former army official Yitzhak Break argued, “The army presents a false image to the public regarding Hamas’ losses in Gaza, conflicting with the reality.”

Break urged humility in portraying the situation, stating that Hamas’ losses are minimal compared to the army’s announcements.

He further criticized the military for using the media to amplify its offensive in the region, describing it as “the most covered war since the establishment of Israel.”
