Forensic Doctor: Israeli Forces Executed Palestinian Rescue Workers in the Field

Gaza (Quds News Network)- A forensic doctor revealed evidence that Israeli forces executed Palestinian rescue workers in the field. He examined the bodies of 15 paramedics and rescue workers. They died from gunshots at close range. The doctor noted that the bullets hit specific body parts. This pattern suggests an execution style killing.
Rescue teams from the Palestinian Red Crescent, Civil Defense, and UN staff were on a humanitarian mission. They worked in Rafah on the morning of 23 March. They aimed to collect dead and wounded civilians. Israeli forces attacked them. The attackers shot the workers and later buried their bodies in a mass grave. A bulldozer pushed the bodies and their damaged vehicles into the sand.
Local witnesses reported that some victims showed signs of restraint before death. One paramedic had his hands tied to his body while another was beheaded. The forensic exam revealed that almost all victims suffered multiple bullet wounds. One victim’s remains looked like a skeleton after damage by animals.
Israel claimed that the ambulances approached military sites ‘suspiciously’. It claimed that the vehicles did not use emergency lights. However, local organizations and witnesses reject this claim. They provided no evidence that the rescue workers posed any security threat. They stress that the workers were on a clear and documented humanitarian mission.
This incident has sparked global outrage. International human rights groups demand accountability. They urge the International Criminal Court to open an investigation into these killings. They warn that such actions may constitute war crimes.
Israeli attacks on Gaza have escalated ending a short ceasefire. Israeli forces have targeted civilians, medical staff, and rescue teams across the region. More than 1,000 medical staff have been killed since the start of the genocide on 7 October 2023. Hospitals and clinics face constant destruction amid the ongoing conflict.
