Five detainees continue hunger strike in protest against administrative detention

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Five detainees continue their hunger strike in protest against administrative detention for periods reaching 121 days.
The detainees are Kayed Fasfous, who has been on hunger strike for 121 days, Ala’a A’raj (97 days), Hisham Abu Hawwash (88 days), Lu’ai Al Ashqar (33 days) and Ayyad Al Hureimi (51 days).
On Friday, the media adviser for the Committee of Detainees and Former Deyainees’ Affairs, Hasan Abed Rabbu, said that the five detainees are suffering from very serious health conditions. Kayed Al Fasfous suffers occasionally loses consciousness and he suffers from tachycardia in addition to low blood pressure and he is facing the danger of sudden death.
Abed Rabbu added that the situation would affect Fasfous’ Kidneys, heart, lungs, and nerves. He noted that the committee appealed for the IsraeliSupreme Court, demanding to release Fasfous and end his unlawful administrative detention.
He added that an Israeli court on Thursday extended the detention of Ala’a Al A’raj for eight days and submitted an indictment against him, trying to stall.
The Israeli court also decreased the administrative detention of Abu Hawwash from six to four renewable months, which is only an attempt to deceive the public opinion and human rights organizations.
It is worth mentioning that Miqdad Al Qawasmeh ended his 113-day hunger strike on Thursday after the Israeli authorities decided to release him next February.
