Farhan Qadi released by Hamas out of pity, Not rescued by Israel’s army

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Farhan Qadi, an Israeli prisoner held in Gaza, was released by Hamas out of pity rather than being rescued by the Israeli military, reported Israel’s Ynet. Qadi, who had been held in a hidden underground location, gave his first testimony detailing the circumstances surrounding his release.

According to Ynet, Qadi had been detained in a tunnel system beneath the Gaza Strip, an area that was fortified with concrete and traps to serve as a prison for Israeli prisoners. The tunnel where he was held was reportedly 700 meters away from the site where six Israeli prisoners were killed.

Qadi recounted that during his imprisonment, he heard Israeli commandos from the Shayetet unit communicating in Hebrew. However, they did not engage or rescue him, likely due to the tactics they employed. Instead, Hamas instructed Qadi to remain inside the tunnel and keep a blast door shut, warning him of explosives behind it.

Despite being a native Palestinian, Qadi was spared by the Israeli army, the Israeli website emphasized. Six other Israeli prisoners were killed during clashes between the Israeli military’s Nahal Brigade and the resistance as they attempted to flee, according to the report.

Israel had launched a propaganda campaign claiming that its army successfully rescued Farhan Qadi. The Israeli campaign framed the situation as a military success although Qadi’s release occurred without direct intervention from Israeli forces.
