Families of Israeli Prisoners Say Netanyahu Sabotaged Prisoner Swap Deal, Call on Trump to Intervene

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Families of Israeli prisoners have confirmed that Netanyahu has thwarted the recent prisoner exchange talks. They urged US President-Elect, Donald Trump to pressure on Netanyahu to reach comprehensive agreement.

In a press conference during a protest in Tel Aviv, the families said Netanyahu’s actions show a desire to cling to power. They stated that he has been using various pretexts to block the deal, including insisting on control over the Philadelphi Corridor on Gaza’s border with Egypt and demanding detailed lists of prisoners.

A spokesperson for the Families of Israeli Prisoners addressed Trump directly stating that Netanyahu is sabotaging the swap deal. “You are the only one who can pressure him”, he said.

The families called for Israel to end the war in Gaza through a comprehensive prisoner exchange. “Our prisoners face imminent death, and we cannot afford to lose our soldiers to political games,” they said.

Hamas recently stated that new conditions set by Israel delayed a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. These negotiations are reportedly taking place in Doha and Cairo.

Netanyahu’s office dismissed the claims, accusing Hamas of “lying again and backtracking on agreements already reached.”

The accusations come as Gaza faces its 15th month of genocide. Over 153,000 people have been killed or injured, with much of the civilian infrastructure, including homes, schools, and hospitals, destroyed.
