Extremist Israeli settlers vandalize prominent Hasan Bek Mosque in Jaffa

Occupied Palestine (QNN) – Extremist Israeli settlers on Thursday night carried out acts of sacrilege and sabotage against a mosque in Jaffa in the pre-1948 occupied Palestine.

Locals in the city reported that the extremist settlers spray painted Star of David in blue and anti-Palestinian racist graffiti on the northern wall of Hasan Bek Mosque.

The Mosque’s Imam Sheikh Ahmed Abu Ajwa said that the latest racist attack comes as part of a long series of attacks against the mosque since the Nakba in 1948.

Abu Ajwa held the Israeli occupation police fully responsible for the attack, pointing out that a police patrol standing near the mosque witnessed the incident but did nothing.

He called upon the Palestinian people to intensify their presence at the Mosque, which is one of the most important Islamic holy sites in the city.

Israeli settlers attack Palestinians on a daily basis across the occupied territories under the so-called “Price Tag” banner. Such attacks always go unpunished by the Israeli occupation authorities.

These attacks often include assaults on Palestinians, slashing tyres, painting anti-Arab slogans, in addition to the cutting down of trees belonging to Palestinian farmers.
