Euro-Med Monitor urges Switzerland to withstand Israel pressure

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor urged on Wednesday the Swiss Parliament not to comply to pressure exercised by the occupation state of Israel, which aims at abolishing existing Swiss legislation that allows Israeli political and military officials to be arrested and interrogated for war crimes against Palestinians.

The human rights organization expressed concerns regarding a visit by an Israeli delegation, headed by Israel’s foreign minister, and which includes a legal team, to Switzerland to protect Israeli officials from being arrested based on war crimes accusations.

The organization said that Switzerland is one of the first countries, which took action against war crimes and genocides.

A long list of Israeli officials, including Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu, former defense minister and PM Ehud Barak, former defense minister Moshe Ya’alon in addition to other officers in the Israeli occupation army, face threats of arrest and interrogation in many European countries like Switzerland and Sweden.
