Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor faces Israeli incitement amid ongoing documentation of war crimes in Gaza
Geneva (Quds News Network) – In a scathing response to a widening incitement and distortion campaign, the Geneva-based Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has condemned Israeli institutions for questioning the impartiality and professionalism of its efforts in documenting large-scale crimes committed by the Israeli military in the ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 7.
Israeli authorities have a history of obstructing the work of various international and local human rights organizations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, particularly in Gaza. The hindrances include imposing broad restrictions on field documentation operations, limiting freedom of movement, and targeting field teams, preventing UN teams and international committees from investigating potential war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor strongly denounced the latest Israeli incitement campaign, criticizing the international community for allowing it to thrive under a backdrop of systematic impunity. The human rights organization emphasized that Israel should not be permitted to hinder the documentation of its violations.
“The ongoing incitement campaign against Euro-Med is a deliberate attempt to undermine the crucial work we are doing in exposing the atrocities committed by the Israeli military in Gaza,” stated a spokesperson for Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor. “We call on the international community to address this issue and hold Israel accountable for its actions.”
The human rights organization stressed the need for protecting its field crews and researchers, as well as all employees of other human rights organizations in the region, from direct targeting, prosecution, and arrest. The call for protection comes amid rising concerns about the safety of those involved in documenting and reporting on human rights abuses in the volatile region.
Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor affirmed it will remain steadfast in its commitment to uncovering the truth and advocating for accountability, despite facing mounting challenges imposed by Israeli authorities.
The organization called on the international community to stand against the suppression of human rights defenders and ensure that efforts to document and expose violations continue without hindrance.
