EU says it’s “alarmed” about six dying hunger-striking detainees in Israeli jails
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The European Union on Friday said that it is “alarmed” about the six hunger-striking detainees, who are in serious conditions and may die anytime now, and who are protesting their unlawful administrative detention.
In a tweet on its account, the EU said that it is “Alarmed about the critical condition of Palestinian prisoners Kayed Fasfous and Miqdad Qawasmeh, who, among others, have been on hunger strike for over 100 days to protest their administrative detention and some of whom have been hospitalized.”
The account also called on the occupation state to respect international law and decrease the use of unlawful administrative detention against the Palestinian people and avoid loss of life.
“Israeli authorities must respect international law and cease the extensive use of administrative detention without formal charges, as well as avoid loss of life. All detainees have the right to be informed about the charges against them and be subject to a fair trial.”

Six Palestinian administrative detainees have been on hunger strike for periods ranging between 25 and 114 days in protest against being detained without charges or trial.
The families of the detainees have been urging international organizations and bodies to quickly act and save the lives of their sons from a slow death.
