Eight Palestinians lost as boat sinks in Aegean sea

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that eight Palestinians were lost after a sailing boat carrying migrants sank Friday off the island of Paros in the Cyclades.

According to a statement by the ministry, work is under ay to know the fate of the eight missing Palestinians.

On Friday, a sailing boat carrying nearly 80 migrants, sank off the island of Paros in the Cyclades. One of the passengers called the emergency 112 number and reported the incident.

At least 16 migrants died in the tragic incident, bringing toll deaths in the Aegean Sea last week only to 30.

Early Friday, the coast guard reported that 11 migrants drowned and 90 were rescued from rocky islets near Antikythera island between Crete and the Peloponnese.

On Thursday, another boat carrying migrants sank near Folegandros island. Thirteen were rescued and 17 are missing.
