Egyptian sudden decision to close Rafah border crossing

Gaza (QNN)- Egypt’s authorities ordered on Monday to close Rafah border crossing. The sudden decision came only one day following massive protests on the borders between Gaza and 1948-occupied territories.
Authorities in Gaza have not provided further details about the reasons behind the closure. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iyad Al Bizem, said the Egyptian authorities only notified the ministry of its decision to close the border crossing on Monday without providing any details.
The decision came only one day after a day of massive protests on the borders between Gaza and the occupation state.
Israeli snipers targeted peaceful protesters, wounding dozens of them. A young man retaliated using a gun to shoot at an Israeli sniper through a hole in the wall behind which the sniper was hiding to snipe protesters. Israeli media reported that the sniper was seriously wounded.
