Dua Lipa slams New York Times ad accusing her of being anti-Semitic

British pop star Dua Lipa is blasting a full-page advertisement in The New York Times attacking her and supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid for their support of Palestine and accusing them of anti-Semitism.
Lipa said the World Values Network is “shamelessly” using her name to “advance their ugly campaign with falsehoods and blatant misrepresentations.”
She added, “This is the price you pay for defending Palestinian human rights against an Israeli government whose actions in Palestine both Human Rights Watch and Israeli human rights B’tselem accuse of persecution and discrimination.”

The ad refers to Lipa and models Bella and Gigi Hadid as “mega-influencers” who have “vilified the Jewish state” and “accused Israel of ethnic cleansing.”
The advertisement mirrors what the World Values Network said on its website, accusing Lipa and the Hadids of forming an “unholy trinity of anti-Semitic bile to demonize the Jewish people, whom they insist have no right to defend themselves.”
The advertisement includes a photo of all three women modeling red-carpet looks, with the headline: “Meet the new Hamas influencer brigades.”
Lipa fired back on her social media accounts: “The World Values Network are shamelessly using my name to advance their ugly campaign with falsehoods… I stand in solidarity with all oppressed people and reject all forms of racism.”
Gigi and Bella Hadid, who have roots in Palestine, have been advocating for the rights of Palestinians against Israel’s oppression and aggression
Other celebrities have also voiced support for Palestine, including Mark Ruffalo, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, The Weeknd, Zayn Malik and Roger Waters.
This support came after 11 days of Israeli deadly aggression on the Gaza Strip, as 248 Palestinians were killed in the aggression, including 66 children and 39 women, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry, and at least 1,910 others were injured.
More than 90,000 Palestinians were displaced from their homes, and much of Gaza’s infrastructure and many residential buildings were completely destroyed or levelled.
Weeks before the aggression, as the tensions increased, Israeli settlers and forces were attacking Jerusalemites in the Al Aqsa mosque and Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem.
Sheikh Jarrah has been cited as one of the most issues that sparked attention and condemnation around the world as dozens of Palestinians are facing imminent eviction from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah, in a move to force them out and replace it entirely with an Israeli settlement.
