Gaza (Quds News Network)- People in Gaza have found dangerous narcotics inside flour bags distributed by the US-Israeli Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which Palestinians and national organizations now call “death traps.”
The Government Media Office in Gaza told QNN that the drugs found were Oxycodone, a powerful and addictive opioid. It noted that four citizens have so far confirmed discovering the pills inside flour bags distributed by the US-Israeli so-called aid centers.
Officials fear the drugs may have been intentionally crushed or dissolved into the flour itself. If confirmed, this would mean civilians may have unknowingly consumed the narcotics, turning a humanitarian effort into a direct threat to public health.
“This is a systematic crime. It aims to spread addiction and destroy Palestinian society from within,”Ismail al-Thawabta, director of the Government Media Office in Gaza, told QNN. “It is part of Israel’s broader war against the Palestinian people, including acts of genocide.”
The office held Israel fully responsible for the drug contamination, describing it as a form of chemical warfare disguised as humanitarian aid. Gaza authorities warned that using drugs as a “soft weapon” during war violates international law and constitutes a war crime.
Residents are being urged to stay away from the US-Israeli aid centers. These sites, officials said, have become known for luring desperate civilians into dangerous zones, where hundreds have already died.
Over the past month, these so-called aid centers have caused the deaths of 549 starved civilians and injuries to more than 4,000 others, with 39 still missing. Most were seeking food for their families when they were attacked or disappeared.
Palestinian families are now being advised to carefully inspect any food received from these centers and to report any suspicious substances immediately. The office also called on parents to educate their children about the risks.
The Gaza Government urged the United Nations, the International Criminal Court, and human rights bodies to step in. Officials demanded the shutdown of these “death trap” aid centers and called for urgent action to end the Israeli siege on Gaza.
They also urged that aid be delivered only through internationally recognized UN bodies such as UNRWA, and not through entities tied to Israel or its allies.
Since the start of March, Israel has been blocking aid from entering Gaza, causing a famine that killed dozens of Palestinians, most of whom are children.
Israel has partially opened the Rafah Crossing between Gaza and Egypt after two years of genocide. Palestinians are not expected to be allowed to pass through on Sunday, as strict security screenings will be carried out. Entry into Gaza will be permitted only for Palestinians who fled the territory during the assault and who have received prior Israeli security approval.
