Dozens of settlers killed, over hundred wounded in bridge collapse in northern Palestine

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Dozens of Israeli settlers were killed while over a hundred were wounded in a bridge collapse in Mount Al Jarmaq in northern occupied Palestine while they were celebrating the ‘Lag B’Omer holiday’, which marks the death of a leading Rabbi in the second century.
Israeli media reported that at least 44 deaths have been documented among settlers, while over 350 others were wounded during the accident. Benjamin Netanyahu called the incident “a terrible disaster.”
The specific cause of the disaster was not immediately clear. Initial reports said a stand had collapsed at one of the concerts where 100,000 people were taking part in the events. However, the Magen David Adom rescue service said the accident was caused by a crash and overcrowding.
A police official said dozens of participants in a concert had “slipped,” falling on those below them in the stands and causing a crushing domino effect, according to Israeli media.
Huge crowds of settlers had attended the event. By midnight Thursday organizers estimated that some 100,000 people were at the site, according to Israeli media. Israeli police said they were unable to enforce coronavirus restrictions at the site.
