Delta flight attendants launch campaign against new flag policy

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Delta flight attendants started a campaign against the airline new flag policy, which follows harassment by pro-Israel individuals of two flight attendants who were wearing Palestinian flags.

Flight attendants started a petition titled “Protect Flight Attendants from Passenger Harassment”, stating that “Instead of standing up against harassment, Delta made a shocking decision to bow to the demands of those who target Flight Attendants by changing policy: prohibiting all flag pins except for the USA flag.”

The added that protesting the new policy “is not just about a pin or a picture—it’s about defending our dignity.”

Delta Air Lines has changed its policy to only allow flight attendants to wear American flag pins, after pro-Israel individuals harassed and smeared two flight attendants online for wearing Palestinian flag pins, calling them “Hamas badges”. The situation was escalated by the airline itself, which responded on its official social media account saying, “I hear you as I’d be terrified as well, personally”, before the comment was deleted due to the outrage it caused.

“On Wednesday, we removed a reply that was not in line with our values. We strive for an environment of inclusivity & respect for all, in our communities & our planes. The employee responsible no longer supports Delta’s social channels. We apologize for this hurtful post,” the company said apologizing.

In its statement, Delta confirmed that the employees were following airline policy while wearing the pins and is offering them support. Neither of the employees have been fired.

Following the company’s decision to change its policy, Wear The Peace, a clothing company that donates an article of clothing for each purchase, expressed its outrage.

“Hi Delta, We know how Palestinian pins make you tremble with fear so we made sure to make more,” the company said on X. “This pin has now donated over 1000 meals to Gaza.”
