Decomposed bodies of executed elderlies found after Israeli retreat from Gaza’s industrial area

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Bodies of Palestinian civilians, many of them are elderlies, were found decomposing on the streets of Tal Al-Hawa and the industrial districts in Gaza City after Israeli forces retreated from the area.

“The Israeli army partially withdrew from the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City, and we found the bodies of 30 martyrs from the area of the industrial Street and Tal Al-Hawa area,” said Fares Afaneh, an ambulance and emergency official in the northern Gaza Strip, to Al Jazeera, referring to those killed in Israeli shelling.

“Most of the bodies of the martyrs are decomposed due to the inability of ambulance crews to reach [them earlier].”

“We transferred a number of injured people, … [but] there are large numbers of martyrs [still] under the rubble,” Afaneh added.

Testimonies published by Al Jazeera depicted Israeli occupation soldiers executing elderly civilians, including women, inside their homes in Tal Al-Hawa.

The Israeli army destroyed infrastructure, buildings and residential towers in the area, a witness said.

Most of the people killed were women and children, according to local Palestinian sources.

Gaza’s Civil Defence also said that dozens of bodies are scattered in the alleys and inside the destroyed and burned houses in the Tal Al-Hawa and the industrial districts.

“Up to now, at least 60 bodies have been found,” Civil defense spokesperson Mahmud Bassal told the AFP, adding that dozens more are feared to be under rubble.

While receiving continuous distress calls, the Civil Defense reported that it had recovered three victims from the Al-Zaidiya family in the industrial area.

They also noted that several Israeli vehicles were stationed in Abu Mazen roundabout area in Tal Al-Hawa, advising citizens to stay away from the area. They further stressed that the Israeli occupation forces are firing dozens of shells in the vicinity of the municipality park and the Qattan Center, west of Gaza City.
