Death toll goes past 22,000 as Israel persists in its genocide in Gaza

Gaza (Quds News Network) – Israeli occupation forces carried out new massacres against the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip over the past few hours, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties.

The death toll has now risen to over 22,185 martyrs, with an additional 57,000 wounded since the commencement of the Israeli aggression on October 7 last year, according to a non-final count.

Medical sources at the Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, said the hospital received 40 martyrs and approximately 100 wounded on Tuesday morning alone.

Meantime, Israeli artillery targeted the eastern part of Rafah city in the south of the Strip, as well as the northern areas of Nuseirat camp and the central region of Deir al-Balah.

Concurrently, Israeli warplanes conducted a series of airstrikes on civilians’ homes in the refugee camps of Bureij and Nuseirat, and Deir al-Balah, resulting in additional casualties.

Furthermore, the Israeli air force dropped phosphorous and smoke bombs in the vicinity of the Central Education Directorate and Khalid ibn al-Walid School in Nuseirat camp.

At least 16 civilians were killed, and others were injured in the Israeli airstrikes targeting Luluah Abdulwahab Al-Qatami Boys’ Elementary School near Ansar Roundabout in Gaza, which was serving as a shelter for displaced persons.

The occupation forces also struck the Dawa Mosque and several houses in the Maan area east of Khan Yunis in the southern region of the Strip.

Earlier, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported the martyrdom of five civilians and injuries to three others due to the Israeli shelling of its headquarters in Khan Yunis on two consecutive occasions.
